Ajax DoorProtect Jeweller – wireless door and window opening detector with optional Chime

The Ajax DoorProtect Jeweller is a compact wireless detector designed to monitor doors, windows and other indoor openings. When the protected door or window opens, the magnet moves away from the detector’s reed switch and DoorProtect immediately reports the event to the Ajax hub.

In addition to intrusion detection, DoorProtect can also be used as a practical door chime. When the Ajax Chime feature is enabled, a compatible Ajax siren can emit a short audible signal whenever the selected door or window is opened while the alarm system is disarmed.

DoorProtect Jeweller is available in white and black. Both colour options provide the same opening detection, wireless communication, Chime support and battery performance, so choose the finish that best suits the door or window frame.

How It Works

DoorProtect consists of the detector and a permanent magnet. The detector is mounted on the fixed part of the door or window, while the magnet is attached to the moving section. When the opening is closed, the magnetic field keeps the reed switch closed. Opening the door or window moves the magnet away, causing the detector to register the opening and transmit the event to the Ajax system.

The supplied small magnet operates at distances of up to 1 cm and is useful where the detector and magnet are mounted on perpendicular surfaces. The large magnet operates at distances of up to 2 cm and is suited to installations where both parts are positioned on the same plane.

When Chime is configured, the opening can also trigger a selected compatible Ajax siren while the system is disarmed. The siren can be configured to sound between 1 and 4 short beeps, making the feature useful as an entry notification in shops, offices, reception areas and homes.
